Evelyn (Beaton) Callahan

CALLAHAN, Evelyn (Beaton)- Of Malden, July 19th. Devoted wife of the late Thomas L. Callahan. Beloved mother of Irene Short and her late husband John of Malden and Kathleen Fitzgerald and her late husband John R. of Rockport. Daughter of the late Joseph and Bridie (Byrne) Beaton. Sister of Leo Beaton of NH and the late William, Harold and Kenneth Beaton. Cherished grandmother of Michael Short, William Short, Christopher Short, Jonathan D. Fitzgerald and Jennifer L. LaFountain. Also lovingly survived by 11 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street on Friday July 24th at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. As an honor to Evelyn's 53 years of dedication to the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, the family suggests that memorial contributions in her name be made to Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, 600 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02111  Attn: Gift and Bequest
