McCarthy- Of Malden, July 4th, Carol (Fucci). Devoted wife of the late Gerald McCarthy. Beloved mother of Joanne Witham of Melrose, John Witham of Malden, Derek Witham and his fiancee Adrina Aurite of Malden, Gerald McCarthy of Malden and Gary McCarthy of Bedford, NH. Loving daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Fucci. Sister of Carmella Nelson and her husband William of Malden, Frances Muise and her late husband Earl of Everett, Bridget Bryan and her late husband William of Medford, Charlotte Brickley and her husband Arthur of NH and the late Michael Fucci, Anna Fitzpatrick, her twin sister Carolyn Brett and Joseph Fucci. Cherished grandmother of Nicole, Trevor, Danielle, Victor, Cameron, Reece, Evan, Adam, Bridget and Erin. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews as well as a dear and long time friend, Doris Solis of Malden. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden on Friday, July 9th at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) Malden on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 175 Lake Street, Peabody. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carol's name be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.at the address listed below.

Born and raised in Malden and a resident here for almost her entire life, Carol passed away unexpectedly at home on July 4th at the age of 82. A graduate of the Malden School system, she was a member of the Malden High School Class of 1956. Starting her career as an insurance professional, she worked for 10 years for American Mutual Insurance in Wakefield before returning to her family owned business, The Revlin Plaza , one of the first local function facilities in the area, where specialized as a wedding coordinator for weddings and other memorable events for up to 450 guests. After it's closing, she entered the insurance field once again working for her son at Derek Witham Insurance Agency from 1997 until her retirement in 2012.
