POTHIER, Estelle R. (Doucet) - Of Malden, peacefully entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 1st after celebrating her 90th birthday with her family. She joins her late husband, William, with whom she spent 52 years of marriage.
A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Estelle loved her family more than anything. A woman of great faith, she taught her family the importance of religion and love.
With her bright, caring, and life-giving attitude, she worked as an operating room nurse at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for many years. She loved tending her vegetable garden, taking care of animals, attending Mass daily, going to the beach, watching the moon rise over the ocean, and spending time with her ever-growing family.
In her golden years, “Nana” kept busy with word puzzles, Sudoku, reading books, watching Mass on TV, feeding birds and squirrels, and knitting countless blankets for newborn babies in her community.
The daughter of John and Elizabeth Doucet, Estelle was a sister to John Doucet, Joseph Doucet and his wife Pat, and the late Leonard Doucet.
Estelle now watches over her very large and beautiful family, which includes her seven children: Paul and MaryEllen Pothier and their children Emily and Daniel; Thomas Pothier and his children Ashley, Ryan, TJ, and Steven; Suzanne and John Olszak and their children Michael, Joey, Matthew, Andrew, Anthony, and Ben; Peter and Debbie Pothier and their children John, Maria, Rosalie, and Anna; Joanne and Dante Catizone and their children Francesco, Christopher, Dominic, and Nicholas; Roxanne and Harry Bournazian and their children Anthony and Jacob; Leanne Guzman and her children Elexis, Elissa, Elina, Emilee, and Emilio; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends-- all of whom were blessed by the life of Estelle.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden on Saturday, December 5th at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment at Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham
