She was the beloved mother to her daughters and son-in laws,  Wilhermine Denis-Destouches and husband Pierre Destouches,  Nadege Abraham and her husband Herold Jean-Louis. Also survived by her sister in laws, brother in laws, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Maky was self-employed, as a  wholesaler and retailer to support her family and a longtime member of the SDA Church  of Sisha  and later of Bethel, both located in Port-au-Prince, where she served as Deaconess  in both churches until she moved to the States in 2001.

Upon her arrival in Massachusetts, she quickly joins the Philadelphie SDA Church, in Malden, then 6 months later moved to Florida where she was an active member and a deaconess at Beer-Sheba Seventh-day Adventist church in Deerfield Beach, while working as a caregiver until 2012. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and dancing, but her love and passion were for the Lord.

Upon returning back to Boston in 2012 she once again join the Philadelphie SDA Church and was part of the Wednesday prayer group and other activities of the church.

In 2013 Maki started to develop signs of forgetfulness, but was diagnosed in 2015 with mild to medium Alzheimer’s,  and the illness quickly  progress to a point where she could no longer be on her own and 6 weeks ago, she became suddenly very ill by not eating and drinking until her passing at MGH.
