Devoted Mother
Immacula Cadet (Maki), 74, died Tuesday March 23, 2019 9:25PM at Mass General Hospital, in Boston with her family by her side after a long illness.
Maki was born on Thursday, December 21, 1944, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to her late parents who preceded her in death, Francoinise (Francois) and Joachin Cadet. She was the beloved mother to her daughters and son-in laws, Wilhermine Denis-Destouches and husband Pierre Destouches, Nadege Abraham and her husband Herold Jean-Louis. Devoted and cherished grandmother to Loadz Jean-Louis and Jonathan Destouches. Her son Wilkins Abraham precede her in death since he was 1 years old.
Maki is survived by her dear siblings Giselle Cadet, Marcel Cadet, Rose Marie Seche, Murat Cadet, Jacqueline Cadet, Jean-Robert Cadet; and Francoise Cadet and Solange Cadet who preceded her in death 5 years ago. Also survived by her sister in laws, brother in laws, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Maky was self-employed, as a wholesaler and retailer to support her family and a longtime member of the SDA Church of Sisha and later of Bethel, both located in Port-au-Prince, where she served as Deaconess in both churches until she moved to the States in 2001.
Upon her arrival in Massachusetts, she quickly joins the Philadelphie SDA Church, in Malden, then 6 months later moved to Florida where she was an active member and a deaconess at Beer-Sheba Seventh-day Adventist church in Deerfield Beach, while working as a caregiver until 2012. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and dancing, but her love and passion were for the Lord.
Upon returning back to Boston in 2012 she once again join the Philadelphie SDA Church and was part of the Wednesday prayer group and other activities of the church.
In 2013 Maki started to develop signs of forgetfulness, but was diagnosed in 2015 with mild to medium Alzheimer’s, and the illness quickly progress to a point where she could no longer be on her own and 6 weeks ago, she became suddenly very ill by not eating and drinking until her passing at MGH.
She was a fun-loving, caring mother and grand-mother, sister, aunt and cousin. She will be missed dearly by those she leaves behind, and whose lives she touched.
Condolences go to the Destouches, Abraham, Cadet, Jean-Louis, Seche, Denis, Desravilles families.

Family and Friends are kindly invited to attend her viewing and funeral at Philadelphie SDA Church, located at 575 Main Street, Malden, MA, on Friday, May 3rd, starting at 9 am. Interment to follow at Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
Reception and fellowship to follow back at the church.
