James E Bright

It comes with a heavy heart to announce the peaceful passing of James Edward Bright on the evening of December 31st 2023 after a courageous three year battle with cancer. Jimmy was 58 years of age. He was born in Chelsea on June 16, 1965 to Janet Manuel and the late William Bright Jr. He was the husband of Nancy (Creamer) Bright, which he shared 41 beautiful years of his life with. In addition to his wife, he was the loving father of Ryan J. Bright and his wife Kristen of Goffstown, NH, his daughter Samantha J. Bright and her partner Nick of Westford. He was also the cherished grandfather to Gavin Ryan Bright of Goffstown, NH. Jimmy was a beloved figure in Billerica, where he’d lived since 2003, coaching many of his children’s youth sports teams. With a special passion for Basketball, he was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics, and loved watching the games with his family. Jimmy was a dedicated employee at Comcast, working there for almost 30 years before his retirement. Brother of Linda Ryan and her husband Leo of Georgetown, Richard Bright of Derry, NH, Sandra Nalchajian and her husband David of Groveland, and Robert Bright and his wife Janet of Melrose. He is also proceeded in death by his brother William Bright III. Jimmy is also survived by many nieces and nephews which he cherished greatly.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Celebration of Life in the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Saturday, January 13th from 1-4 PM. Committal Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House or to Billerica Youth Basketball at the address listed below.
