ROONEY, Joseph L., Jr.- Of Reading formerly of Malden, November 8th. Devoted husband of Mary J. (Rogers). Beloved father of Christine Joyce and her husband Joseph of Medford, Mary Beth Evers and her husband Danny of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Karen Bonacorso and her husband Anthony of Newbury, Joseph L. Rooney, III and his wife Michelle of Georgetown and Christopher Rooney and his wife Julia of Newbury. Brother of Katherine Flammia of Malden, Richard Rooney of Davenport, Florida, Larry Rooney of Lynn, Robert "Bobby" Rooney of Lowell and the late Barbara Pariseau, Thomas, Donald and James Rooney. Cherished grandfather of Daniel, Julia, Ivy and Jessica Evers, Mia and Morgan Joyce, Sophia, Olivia, Nicole and Anthony Bonacorso and Cameron and Christian Rooney. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Saturday, November 14th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Late member of the East Side AA and proud member of the International Union of Elevator Contractors Local # 4.

In accordance with the Covid-19 Pandemic procedures put in place by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the CDC and Malden Board of Health, those visiting are required to wear facial coverings, practice social distancing and due to occupancy restrictions are to enter the Funeral Home, pay their respects and exit to allow addition guests to enter.
