Born in Boston, Ron passed away at the Brigham and Woman's Hospital in Boston after a brief illness at the age of 84. Growing up in Southie, he never lost his connection there. Even after marriage and taking up residence in Malden, he still drove to Castle Island several times each week to socialize and spend time with friends. Proud of his Irish heritage, he and his wife, Claire traveled extensively with the Castle Island Association, from Alaska to Hawaii, from their many visits to Ireland to the European River Cruises, with his favorite being to the Panama Canal. For 25 years, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Sheet Metal Workers, Local Union 17. An avid sports fan, he was one of the original season ticket holders for the Patriots and relished the Red Sox and Patriots Championships last year. A true family man, he actively supported each grandchild through soccer, plays, football and much more. He will missed dearly and never forgotten.
